Valentines Day...Tips To Show Your Child You Love Them |

Valentine's Day is this month. Here are 6 fun ways to let your child know how much you love them: 1. Write a love note. If your child is old enough to read words, you can write a few nice words on a napkin, cut out paper heart or notecard. For your pre-reader, simply cut out a paper heart and write his or her name on the heart. Your message will be understood. Hide your love note in a lunchbox, under a bed pillow or another "secret" place that your child will be sure to find it. 2. Plan a tea party. Little girls enjoy putting on dress-up clothes and sipping water or juice out of little tea cups. Little boys may enjoy milk and cookies served picnic style on a blanket spread over the floor. 3. Plan a "dinner out" event with your child. Let your child choose where to go and enjoy some time together. If a "dinner out" is not in the budget, then let your child choose what to eat for dinner and spend some time in the kitchen together. 4. Make a memory book. Together, tape photographs, special papers, awards and other special mementos that reflect who your child is. Your child will feel extra special as you highlight his or her accomplishments and memories. 5. Hold a talent event at your home. Have your child put on a show for the family. If they can play an instrument, have them give you a concert. Have a budding artist in the house? Hang their masterpieces on the hallway walls and have an art show. 6. Read together. Set aside some quite time together and enjoy some story time. Not only are you spending time together, but you are helping your child learn important skills. |
