Preparing Your Child for The First Day of Kindergarten

Your child might feel worried about his first day at kindergarten, because school is a new environment for him. His first day at kindergarten also means that he must step out of his comfort zone to be able to adapt with the school environment.

Make your child's first day at school an event that he can look forward to by preparing him for this big change.

o Shop for school supplies. Let your child choose the designs of his pencil box, notebooks and back pack so he will be motivated for his first day at school. He will surely enjoy writing with his new pencils and notebooks. Remind your child to always return his things inside his bag so he will not lose them.

o Throw a "first day at school" party. Invite the kids in your neighborhood for a first day at school party. The kids who already experienced going to school can share their stories to your child so he will know what to expect. Decorate the party venue with school posters from a printing company to create a first day at school atmosphere. You can give your guests eco-friendly notebooks and pencils as party favors.

o Talk to your child about school. Share your school experiences with your child so he can have an idea about school activities and subjects. If your child is still hesitant to go to school, tell him that he can make new friends in school whom he can play and share stories with.

o Visit the school with your child. Take a tour into the school facilities together with your child so he can be familiar with the environment. Introducing your child to his new environment will make him feel at ease. Do not forget to give your kid's teacher a copy of your business card printing material so she can update you with your child's progress and behavior.

o Pack his lunch box with healthy and delicious foods. This way, you can be confident that your child is eating healthy even outside your home. You may also prepare extra sandwiches so your kids can share them with his new friends.

o Ask him how his day went. Spend time with your child to talk about his experiences in school so you will know how he is adjusting to his new environment.
