Ansonia Launches Community Planning Effort
All children in Ansonia, birth through age 8, are healthy, safe and have the skills and behaviors to become lifelong learners."
Wouldn't that be ideal? Well, with this end in mind, the Ansonia School Readiness council begins an 18 month process to find out more about the real needs of the children and families in Ansonia.
We will do this by holding a series of focus groups or meetings with people in Ansonia to hear what your concerns are for your families. We will ask community people to complete surveys and answer questions so that we truly understand the needs of Ansonia residents. Once we collect the information and comments from our residents, we will start looking at important pieces of information (called data) and study what that information tells us about the needs of our community. With all of this information, we hope to have a complete picture of what our community has to offer and what are the needs of its residents.
Then, the process of creating a plan to make Ansonia the place where all children are healthy, safe and ready to learn can begin. Work groups will be formed to create solutions to existing problems and a plan for reaching all of our families will be formulated that shows what the priorities should be in our schools, health facilities, and community organizations.
In order to do this, we need everyone's participation. We hope to meet with as many residents of Ansonia as possible. We need helpers who would be willing to help us collect information, research for data, and help us create solutions. Kindly plan on joining us at La Rosina Room on Thursday, August 26th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM to learn more. Or, please contact Karen Hicks to find out how you can be a part of this exciting process. 203 893-0065 or firstname.lastname@example.org
